As physiotherapists, we are often asked what sets our classes apart from other forms of exercise. The benefits are widespread and can be different for everyone. However, in short, physiotherapy classes are based around posture awareness, alignment, core strength and breathing. You will also find the classes incorporate flexibility, balance and general muscle tone. There is an emphasis on mastering the technique of each exercise to build strength and control across the body.
Here at Willoughby Sports & Spinal Physiotherapy, we run small mat exercise classes using your own body weight for resistance, as well as bands, weights and fitballs. Training can be beneficial to everyone, whether you are healthy and active, an elite athlete or suffering from chronic back issues. The classes are 1 hour and have a maximum of 3 per class, so you will have more one on one supervision. This ensures the exercises are personally targeted to your level and the correct technique is used.
