Pre and Post Operation Rehabilitation

For patients who require surgery for their injury we can manage the recovery from diagnosis, imaging and pre-op rehabilitation through to the post op process. We will liaise with the referring doctor and surgeon throughout the process to ensure the best outcome for the patient. It is important to have short and long term goals established with the patient, so the recovery can stay on track. We believe it is vital for patients to understand the realistic timeframes for milestones, particularly for returning to work, driving and sport following their surgery.

Depending on the type of surgery, we often see patients frequently in the early days to achieve full range of motion and reduce swelling and discomfort.

As patients improve, sessions will reduce in frequency and home exercises will continue to be prescribed.

We are experienced in treating all areas of the body and have a strong focus towards hands on therapies as well as exercise rehabilitation. This will often involve prescribing a home exercise program to continue your recovery between sessions. We use the following interventions to help you achieve your goals:
  • Manual therapies
  • Joint mobilisation
  • Taping
  • Dry needling
  • Deep tissue massage
  • Stretching
  • Rehabilitation strength exercises
  • Balance work
